National Guard PDHRA - July 25, 2008

Tri-City Baptist Church had a new opportunity to reach out to the community when Arizona Army National Guard Chaplain Chris Melvin, a graduate of International Baptist College, asked if Tri-City could host his unit's post-deployment assessments on Friday, July 25, 2008. The purpose of the PDHRA (Post-Deployment Health Re-assessment) is to identify any mental, physical, or financial needs the soldiers may have and put them in touch with people who can help. The first group of soldiers descended on the campus bright and early at 6:00 a.m. and the second group stayed until well after 6:00 p.m. After the second group watched a video in the auditorium, the expanded brass quintet from TCA Band Camp demonstrated their appreciation and respect for the servicemen and women by playing "The Battle Hymn of the Republic." The campus was a busy place with band campers in their bright green shirts and soldiers in their subdued fatigues utilizing every building throughout the day.
