IBC Ministry Team Trip - May 13-June 1, 2008

The International Baptist College Ministry Team serves local churches around the West by effectively communicating God's Word and principles, by doing acts of service, and by presenting a place of training for God's service.

The 2007-2008 International Baptist College Ministry Team members are Eva Nicodemus, Katie Carlisle, Daniel Bushey and Daniel Kelting. During their summer trip they traveled with Pastor Torrey Jaspers and his family to Colorado, Utah, and Wyoming. This year’s program, Redeeming Love, is based on 1 John 4:9 and consists of special music along with Scripture reading.

Week Two

Sunday, May 25, 2008

This morning we did our program and ran junior church at Trinity Baptist. After the service there was a fellowship time. It was neat to get to know some of the people there in Riverton. This evening we went to Mountain View Baptist Church in Grantsville.

Monday, May 26, 2008

Today we helped another church move. Their rent had gone up to the point they could no longer afford the building, so they were putting everything into storage for the time being. It was nice to get to know those Christians.

This was our first of two days of canvassing for Trinity's open house on Thursday. We finished leaving invitations on 500 doors by 3:00 p.m., praying for each household along the way. Then we helped build a deck for church fellowships.

Another 500 flyers for the open house were distributed this morning, and we also had some good talking opportunities and were able to personally invite someone to the church. After lunch we met Pastor Maxwell at the metro for a guided trip around downtown Salt Lake City and the Mormon Temple. At one point the train stopped because President Bush's motorcade was passing by up ahead! He was in town for a fundraiser.

It was cloudy today as we started cleaning the church for tonight's open house. The Daniels worked outside on the grounds until hard rain and lightning drove them inside where Eva and Katie were cleaning. One of the open house visitors came because of the flyer we had left on her door!

We left Riverton at 6:30 a.m. for Kingman, Arizona. We arrived early so we stopped at a park and enjoyed some much needed exercise.

This morning we went door knocking around Gospel Light Baptist Church, distributing tracts. A couple of people we talked to were interested and said they would come out to church tomorrow. We then drove to Prescott to be at Amazing Grace Baptist Fellowship.

Sunday, June 1, 2008

This morning we left early to help the people at Amazing Grace Fellowship set up for church in the school where they are currently meeting. They have to bring all of the supplies and set up the chairs and pulpit. We did our scripture recitation and sang, then left to help with junior church. We were at Yavapai-Apache Baptist Church in Camp Verde for the evening service. It is a small church, but the people were very friendly.

Conclusion:

Three weeks have flown by on this trip! We have served many people and churches, and have been blessed in return. God has taught us a lot through different situations and people along the way, and we have seen Him work in marvelous ways, despite all apparent odds. God is great!
