Firstfruits Banquet - November 20, 2011

In a new twist, the Firstfruits Banquet was held in the auditorium this year. This allowed us to enjoy special music, a photo slideshow, and a video message from Pastor Mike. The church family spent the evening enjoying a potluck meal and reflecting on the last few years in our ministry.

The banquet is a highlight of Stewardship Month when we focus on our stewardship of the resources that God has given. The theme this year was Staying Faithful, taken from 1 Corinthians 4:2, "Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful." November 20 was also Double Tithe Sunday, when the church family is asked to show their trust in God by giving twice as much as their usual weekly tithe. The extra funds are used for various projects at the church and for missionaries; this year the money was used for a missions project and the Lehman settlement.

Tri-City has a lot going on in the coming weeks. Each Adult Bible Fellowship (ABF) will have a Christmas party on the weekends of December 10 and 17. The Winter Rose, this year's musical Christmas celebration, will be performed December 9 and 11. Some of our pastors will open their homes on December 18 for fellowship in place of the evening service. Join us on December 24 at 5:00 p.m. and December 25 at 10:30 a.m. for our Christmas services.
