Pastor Mike's Last Sunday until January 2012 - October 2, 2011

Pastor Mike Sproul, senior pastor of Tri-City Baptist Church, is also in the Air Force reserves as the Wing Chaplain of the 161st Air Refueling Wing. He left on deployment to Southwest Asia on Monday, October 3, and will be there until January 2012.

His last Sunday with us was October 2. During the morning service, Pastor Mike spoke from one of his favorite passage, Jeremiah 29. He took time to thank his wife for her support and gave her flowers and a gift. The pastors and deacons gathered with him on the platform for prayer in his behalf at the end of the service. That evening the church family enjoyed a great time of testimonies and singing, much to the delight and enjoyment of Pastor Mike.

Even though Pastor Mike will be away, the ministries here will continue to be as busy as ever. The fall calendar is full of activities. Family Fun Night is coming up on October 31 when you can bring the kids for a fun night of activities and prizes hosted by the Awana program. Pastor Mike has recorded video messages for the church to view on Veteran's Sunday (November 6) and at the Firstfruits Banquet (November 20). Music Pastor Dave Stertzbach is planning an exciting Christmas program for December 9 and 11 that involves the Church, Tri-City Christian Academy, and International Baptist College. On December 18, some of the pastors and their families will open their homes for the church family to visit and fellowship.

Brother Dave Barba from Press On! Ministries will be filling the pulpit during most of the services while Pastor Mike is away. Brother Barba and his wife, Claudia, spend their time traveling the country helping new churches to get established. They also developed The Phones for You! outreach program that we used a few months after we moved to our new campus. The Barbas' first Sunday with us will be October 23. Until they arrive, we will hear speakers from inside and outside our ministry.

Pray for Pastor Mike's health, ministry to his unit, his safety, and for opportunities to share the gospel. Continue supporting the ministries here as well by prayer and faithful attendance.
