Japan Benefit Concert - June 11, 2011
International Baptist College student and Chandler School of Fine Arts faculty member Marcellus Martin organized a benefit concert to raise money for those suffering after Japan's tsunami. The concert was a production of Intermezzo Strings, a local entertainment agency specializing in live instrumental music, and featured works of late romantic composers performed by a full member orchestra and guest artists. Cal Stewart Kellogg, Music Director of the Symphony of the Southwest, was the guest conductor. Tri-City Baptist Church hosted the concert, which raised over $1,000 for the Japanese Red Cross Society. Additional donations can be made online at www.intermezzostrings.org.
