Evangelistic Meetings - January 30-February 4, 2011

The Steve Pettit Evangelistic Team was at Tri-City Baptist Church for a six day evangelistic crusade which began on January 30. In each of the main services, the Team’s music ministry was followed by Steve Pettit’s strong preaching. An Irish concert and gospel message finished the week on Friday.

There was something for everyone at the evangelistic meetings. Teens participated in the Cola Wars, an evangelistic program run by the team; the kids had a nightly program called “Spy Games”; and of course, the adults sat under Evangelist Pettit’s sound Bible preaching. In addition to the evening services, there were pre-session meetings also. The teens met at 6:15 p.m. for the Cola Wars. At their 6:30 meetings, the kids heard missionary stories while the adults learned about walking in the Spirit.

Each evening had a different theme. Monday was ABF (Adult Bible Fellowship) night and church members were encouraged to sit with their ABFs. The focus Tuesday night was on Tri-City Christian Academy, with a special song by the high school Chorale. Wednesday was Family Fun Night—a virtual evening at camp with games, special music, and a message about family relationships. Thursday and Friday were set aside specifically for evangelism, and both nights featured gospel messages. On Thursday, the emphasis was on the youth group, following the end of the Cola Wars in the afternoon. Friday was the special Irish sacred concert which was also used as an outreach opportunity for the church family. The church was full on Friday with many guests and church members.

The meetings were a blessing to the church family. It is always enjoyable to spend time with believers. Evangelist Pettit challenged everyone greatly from God's word. God worked in church members and guests through this event and may He grant that the changes made in people’s lives will be felt for years to come.
