Ladies' Brunch - May 1, 2010

Over 100 ladies of all ages gathered in the Tri-City Baptist Church fellowship hall on Saturday, May 1, 2010 for the annual ladies' brunch. The theme was The Gardens Spring Forth, taken from Isaiah 61:11: "For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord GOD will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations."

Theresa Trogen, a music teacher at Tri-City Christian Academy, kicked off the event by singing a special with her daughter, Syndey. After that, Mrs. Shannon Doney, a teacher at the Chandler School of Fine Arts and pianist in the church, led the ladies in singing several songs, including one especially for the young ladies. The songs all had a focus on gardens and growing.

The ladies all brought dishes to share for the brunch and enjoyed the food and fellowship. After brunch and some more group songs, the Carlisle ladies (Katie, Lisa, Kristina, and Linda) sang a special in English and Spanish.

The challenge was from Mrs. Kathryn Carlisle. She and her husband, Larry, have served for seventeen years as missionaries to Spain under International Baptist Missions. Mrs. Carlisle gave her testimony, telling the ladies that God can use anyone to do His will.

Traditionally the brunch concludes with a craft, but this year Mrs. Elma Sproul reinforced the theme by providing seed packets and pots for the ladies to take home and grow flowers.
