Holiday Program - November 20, 2009

On Friday, November 20, 2009, Tri-City Christian Academy entertained an audience of over 600 with quality and style during the 2009 Thanksgiving and Christmas program, "Thanks for His Gift." Though the stage was new and the program was different, all the trademarks of a TCA program were evident: educational and entertaining music, varied styles from intensely spiritual to novelty, and stage logistics (moving the groups on and off the stage) that required very little patience from the audience. The program lasted just over an hour and featured every single performing group in the school, from the high school choir to the 3-year-old Kindergarten class; from the junior high band to the fourth grade recorders.

Highlights of the evening included the junior high choir's song featuring the "Men of the Chorus" (not every school has junior high young men who can pull off a novelty song like that!). The high school Chorale reminded us that prosperity can so easily distract us from devotion to the Lord. Every level of Mrs. Yuen's bands were spot-on. The junior high band particularly had a balanced and mature sound.

The entire elementary school performed a geography lesson of Christmas carols from many different countries, Christmas around the World. The little ones stole the show, of course—as they inevitably do.

Pastor Mike concluded the evening with a crystal clear brief gospel presentation. The Lord blessed with several salvation decisions as a bonus to the enjoyable evening of education and entertainment!
