IBC's annual youth conference is designed to address the needs of teenagers today. The theme of this year's Youth Conference is Battalion: The Few. The Faithful. A battalion is a small unit of soldiers that are set apart to accomplish a certain task. The Christian life is like that of a soldier in a battalion. We are a remnant among the almost seven billion people in the world, and we are given a certain task to accomplish. This task, fulfilling the Great Commission, is the rally cry that unifies believers. At first glance, this task seems too overwhelming. However, we know that though we are few, if we are faithful, God can use us greatly just as he used Gideon and his three hundred to accomplish His will.
Our Christian teenagers in this millennium need to realize that they are a remnant among their peers, and those who seek to serve God whole heartedly are a remnant among the remnant. With our world becoming darker and darker at a younger age each year, we are greatly moved to teach our teenagers the reality of the faithful few.
