Awards Picnic - April 17, 2010

As The International Baptist College awards picnic is a time of fun and relaxation that students look forward to each year. It is a great opportunity to honor those who stand out and to enjoy fellowship as the student body.

On Saturday, April 17, students, faculty, and friends met at Mesa's Red Mountain Park. There the students played a finger rocket game and fellowshipped before dinner. During the meal, Michael Rollins hosted a trivia game, with dorm supervisors Jarrod and Kristina Murdock and IBC President Pastor David Brock participating in the last round.

Then came the main focus of the picnic--the awards. Some were silly‚Jonathan Philobes won an award for displaying characteristics of a stereotypical freshman. Some were serious, such as Elizabeth Rendon's award for using her musical talent to serve God. Other award winners were Miguel Alfaro, Katie Braswell, Rebekah Clement, Katie Carlisle, Brooke Cox, Jenise Davis, Priscilla Davila, Burley Gwaltney, Sammy High, Daniel Kelting, Marcellus Martin, Jeff Maxwell, Mark McCoy, Kenny Norris, Emily Oswald, Gerald Penny, Jonathan Philobes, Samuel Posey, Emily Oswald, Serena Oswald, and Brittney White.

After the presentations, Jeff Maxwell gave a short devotional on having the right focus. Then it was time to head back home with another wonderful memory created in college life at IBC.
