Experience IBC: College Days 2010 began on the afternoon of Thursday, March 25, 2010. IBC's campus and students were ready to welcome the visiting high school students. For the first activity everyone piled into a bus to take part in an evangelistic service at Arizona State University. They handed out flyers, listened to IBC Dean of Men Nathan Mestler give a gospel presentation, and enjoyed pizza with the ASU students. Then it was back to the IBC gym for a game of human tic-tac-toe. Most of the visitors spent the night in the residence hall and experienced dorm life firsthand. On Friday, the guests attended chapel and classes like Biblical Psychology with Miss Sandy Fullmer, Theology 2 with Mr. Jeff Caupp, and Music Theory with Dr. Michael Bryson.
There were also several sessions just for the high school students; a discussion hosted by IBC President Pastor David Brock, and an IBC information session. Mentoring is a key aspect of IBC's educational philosophy, so staff members took groups of four or five high school students off campus for a mentoring session. Later in the afternoon, everyone made IBC t-shirts. IBC provided shirts, stencils, and spray paint, and the students provided creativity. The student with the best shirt received an IBC water bottle.
College Days came to a close Friday evening after dinner. IBC students and staff enjoyed the chance to host the high school students and show them what college life is like and hope to see some return in the fall as freshmen.
