Associate of Arts in Bible and Christian Service

The Associate of Arts in Bible and Christian Service is designed to meet the needs of students who wish to enroll in a two-year program that will prepare them to serve in supporting ministries in a local church. It also provides a solid foundation for those who desire to pursue non-ministry vocations. This program requires the following minimums in core classes: Bible and Theology, 21 hours; General Education, 21 hours; Christian Service Core, 7 hours; and Christian Service Methods, 15 hours. It may be completed in four semesters and two January term sessions. The student must have a GPA of 2.0 or better to graduate.

Mission

The mission of the Associate of Arts program at International Baptist College is to equip students to effectively serve in supporting roles in local churches although their vocation may not be in areas of full-time ministry.

Purposes

International Baptist College offers the Associate of Arts program of study for the following reasons:

1. To develop an increasing desire on the part of the student to know God more intimately which results in faithful service.
2. To enhance the primacy of the local church in the student’s life.
3. To inspire students to take leadership in supporting positions in churches in the West.
4. To lay the base for students to pursue further educational opportunities.

Aims

The aims of the Associate of Arts program are intended to assist International Baptist College in achieving its stated mission and purposes. Therefore, students will

1. gain an enhanced knowledge of the Word of God,
2. be equipped to serve in supporting positions in local churches,
3. develop an understanding and burden for evangelism and discipleship,
4. grasp truths that will enable them to model and participate in ministries where they serve, and
5. be grounded in biblical thinking, living, and communicating.
