A survey of historical events that have influenced education including trends and philosophies that have influenced the development of the Christian school movement.

Ed 524 Curriculum Development

A study of the biblical foundations for an educational curriculum with guidance in biblical research considering source, origin, end, and purpose; scope, sequence, balance, and development of existing curricula will also be analyzed.

Ed 540 Advanced Tests and Measurements

two hours

This course trains students in the principles of biblical, educational, and psychological evaluations, both standardized and teacher-made. Opportunities for studying the administration, scoring, and evaluating of tests of intelligence, achievement, aptitude, and personality are provided.

Ed 544 Christian School Promotion

two hours

A study of the bases, means, and methods of Christian school promotion including a study of related biblical principles. Practical assignments will be given to aid the working administrator.

Ed 554 Law and the Christian School

three hours

A study of law, litigations, and the methods of Christian school promotion along with a study of related biblical principles; practical assignments will be given to aid the working administrator.

Ed 584 Management and Supervision

A study of staff recruitment and the improvement of instruction through planning, biblical and proven management techniques, and continuous in-service education; attention will be given to personal administration, management responsibilities, and program evaluation.

Ed 586 Institutional Advancement and Effectiveness

A study of the art and science of development and effectiveness including operational and long term planning and comprehensive assessment.

Ed 594 Technology in Education

two hours

A focus on the concepts and strategies necessary for leadership in the integration and application of technology. The student will be given the opportunity to study the advancement of the quality and the effectiveness of teaching by using technology as a tool, a medium, and a setting for learning, as well as the strategic planning, leadership styles, institution change process, and policy issues regarding educational technology. Students will create and share a vision of educational technology for their workplace, generate a technology plan that supports that vision, and write a proposal seeking funding for all or part of that plan.

A study of the format and purposes of Christian thesis writing; the student will be given direction in topic selection, biblical research, organization, and writing.

Hi 533 History of Fundamentalism

A study of the history of the fundamentalist movement analyzing its historical roots, leading personalities, issues, battles, and present-day status.

Ma 564 Business and Finance

A study of the principles regarding the management of a school’s business affairs with instruction in the areas of financial management (including recording & accounting for receipts and expenditures, inventory, and financial resources) along with instruction in the area of time, space, and resource management; attention will be given to the initiation of a comprehensive long-range development plan for a school and/or ministry.

Pr 584 Administrative Leadership

two hours

An examination of the root causes of explosive problems in ministry and an exploration of the biblical principles necessary to respond in a God honoring way. As such, the spiritual qualities (both personal and organizational) of godly leadership will be presented and contrasted to prevailing contemporary theories.

A study of the principles and practices of a Baptist church, such as membership, officers, government, discipline, and ordinances.

Th 564 Contemporary Theological Issues

An examination of the current religious scene in light of Scripture to prevent the minister, his staff, and his congregation from being confused by the many current doctrinal trends.
